Be Healthy by eating Fresh but Staying healthy is a big task these days which everyone wants to achieve. However, we usually end up spoiling our eating habits and consuming unhealthy and unhygienic food. For most of us, the food we are eating become a secondary concern as we are more engrossed in work and a very fast daily life. As a result, we either don’t have time to cook fresh meals every time at home or are too tired to cook at all and would choose to buy something to eat from outside.

We usually end up ordering food that was not prepared fresh or used harmful ingredients just to bring out good taste; thus resulting in compromised health. The truth is that we don’t have many options to choose from as no one is providing freshly made food in a clean and hygienic environment.

But we need to ask ourselves whether what we are eating daily is good for our health. Shouldn’t we prefer eating only genuine Home-Made Food? Well, it is not always tedious to eat healthy and surely there are some ways to maintain good health.

We can keep our Body Healthy by adding some simple steps to our daily routine.

Stay healthy by Eating Fresh Food:

  1. Party at your house? How about a healthy welcome drink?: Prefer fresh Juices / Lassi / Chas / Lemonade over aerated sugar drinks. You don’t need the aerated drinks to enjoy the company of friends. If you belong to the tea bandwagon, tea or coffee is wonderful to start with.
  2. Unable to get proper break time during office hours?: Don’t miss the most important meal of the day. Breakfast! That is the most important meal of the day. It is not only us, most of the traditional as well as modern diet systems believe the same. http://www.bbc.com/future/story/20181126-is-breakfast-good-for-your-health Of course, there is no time to have a stylish English breakfast. But we can always have some simple Indian dishes like upma or poha. Cut some veggies at night if you have any time else enjoy them plain with just mustard seeds.

So let’s make sure we are eating our breakfast without fail.

Stay healthy by eating Fresh Breakfast:

“Breakfast isn’t the only meal we should be getting right” – Sarah Elder

During normal working hours at the office, let’s keep something to munch in between main meals.

There are many healthy options to choose from, so you don’t even get bored. puffed rice, peanuts, roasted Poha, and chakra are just to name a few. Eat in regular intervals and in small portion sizes. Do you remember eating small bites during a lecture, that looks so much fun now. But better you don’t open your little healthy snack box during a meeting!

We don’t have to take separate breaks while working, just keep something near you such as Peanuts, Chana, or Muri mixed with peanuts, homemade sandwiches, salads, fruits, bread toast, and even whole wheat or Oat biscuits are good options.

  1. Not drinking much fluid?: Whatever the schedule is, make sure you have a bottle of water next to you at your desk. Use your desk not only for the laptop but for your health as well. And if you are the one who is reluctant to go to the restroom it’s time to say bye to your shyness. Remember, there is no shame in using the washroom again and again. It’s natural! Many studies suggest at least 3 liters of water intake daily, but let’s start with at least 1 L and increase gradually. Also, consider your natural thirst as that is how your body communicates with you.
  2. Having your Lunch or Dinner from outside?: You must remember that food items should be consumed fresh. So that our body gets maximum nutrition from it. The longer the item is kept after being cooked the more nutritional values are lost. Whether cooking food at home or from outside it needs to be healthy and prepared fresh. We all do crave Butter Chicken and it should be with extra butter on the Naan, Hyderabadi Mutton Dum Briyani with Desi Ghee, Paneer Tikka with some extra spice, Pizza can not be had without extra cheese, Chole Bhature with Mirch pickle, and how can we miss all-time favorite Honey Chilli Potatoes. Extra crispy? Yes, please! The tempting Chocolate Truffle Cake, or desi Rabdi with Kesar Jalebi, and the list is unending.

This is a difficult trap of temptations. the sad part is that these finger-licking foods are not at all healthy. But it doesn’t mean that healthy food can not be tasty but we need to understand the basic principles of cooking for that. If traveling, choose fresh items to avoid any stomach upset. However, if not traveling, go for simple foods which call for minimum masala, avoid fried food, have small but frequent portions, and never stay empty stomach, and that’s it, you are almost there on the path to good health!

So, the main questions we need to ask ourselves are: What are we eating? What time are we eating?

Where is the food prepared? How hygienic is the Kitchen? Is it prepared Fresh? What ingredients are used?

The solution is always near you and can be found if we prioritize our health too like our work. What is the use of such busy life if it affects the most important thing – our body?

“It’s not enough to be busy, so are the ants. The question is, what are we busy about?”

Henry David Thoreau

Eat Fresh and Healthy daily, it’s your own body and you need to take care of it.
